and expensive champagne. Next year will become insane almost immediately. Really it’s already insane, its insanity so profound it became asynchronous with the calendar and infected the end of the previous year. But tonight there will be a small, sturdy zone of calm, established on this foundation of cheap tacos and expensive champagne. Here I shall make my stand, till next week.
I still think this show is a piece of crap BUT I no longer want it cancelled because I want to keep reading the deadpan episode summaries on Wikipedia. For example, just from the recent finale — when the whole living principal cast is dead:
As ghosts, the Harmons are reunited as a family. However, they realize that the house is a danger to those living in it.
I would have to concur, new ghosts just killed by your house! Even better:
Tate is moved to finally admit his responsibility for the massacre, burning Larry, killing Chad and Patrick, and raping Vivien and attempts to apologize. Ben tells him that the only people who could forgive him for the awful things he’s done are the ones he hurt directly, adding that, regardless, he cannot be his therapist. [emphasis added] Tate then asks for at least some companionship; Ben does not immediately respond.
Well kudos to Ben for thinking it over anyway. While he might feel it’s professionally inappropriate to serve as therapist to an undead mass murderer and rapist (who raped and ghost-impregnated Ben’s wife, apparently) — and even though now dead himself — Ben will at least get back to him on the companionship thing. SPOILER ALERT but the season ends with a demon ghost baby killing its babysitter, why not right? Why is this horror story American, anyway? Because it makes no kind of sense and will just keep going till the money runs out? Asked and answered.
It’s really quite lovely when a new baby finally starts to demonstrate the first glimmerings of curiosity and reactivity and interest in the world rather than the standard newborn temperament which is a sort of perpetually enraged shit-goblin
